Every experience is an opportunity to respond to life in a way that may help us embody our highest, self-chosen principles. Human suffering is an experience that forces us to look deep inside ourselves and know ourselves more fully and then courageously act from that place of knowing. We are the ultimate creators of our own experiences and growth.

Background
Education
Texas Tech University
I established Phases Therapy, PLLC in 2021.
Licensure
Including Certifications
I have extensive experience in the substance use/addiction treatment industry including inpatient rehab and medical detox services, partial hospitalization programs, intensive outpatient programs, and community outpatient services, with a focus on Trauma/PTSD and Grief.
Another focus within my experience is in helping family members of addicted loved ones find healing. For 5 years, I provided weekly family support programs; consisting of multi-family groups, family therapy sessions, education, & resources for loved ones to find community and support.
Lastly, I’m experienced in Medical Family Therapy, working in hospital settings with individuals & families battling terminal illnesses and healthcare crises. I provided emotional support as well as tools to cope and adjust to major life transitions from medical trauma & chronic illness.
I'm proud to say therapy has been a vital tool in my own life, as I believe we are never finished growing. My personal experiences have shaped me into the therapist and the person I am today. My own empathy and awareness creates a much deeper level of understanding and connection with clients.
With a holistic perspective to healthcare, I believe working with an individual means working with all of the parts that make the individual whole. I’m focused with the overall, long-term well-being where clients take what they learn with them in every phase of life.
Empowerment of self and intuition is an extremely important tool I value in therapy. With these concepts we focus on expanding your overall awareness to unlock the power that’s already within you.
Approach to Therapy
My therapeutic approach is deeply rooted in Neurodevelopment, Attachment Theory, and Somatic Psychology; each holistically connected to the body and mind with a intersubjective-systemic perspective. A humanistic foundation where
Safety is the Therapy.
There is no "one-size-fits-all" approach to therapy. I utilize a variety of therapeutic modalities and concepts to best suit your individual needs, strengths, and personalities.
We are all wonderfully unique, which I honor with individualized treatment.
The Roots (Foundation)
Built upon the deep roots of my theoretic foundation, lay the framework of Somatic Integration and Processing (SIP) and emphasizes the necessity of an intersubjective relationship between the therapist and client.
.
SIP at its core stems from:
1) Attachment Theory & Interpersonal Neurobiology (IPNB);
2) Adaptive Information Processing (AIP) and Memory Reconsolidation; and 3) Somatic Psychology.
Within this framework, I incorporate therapeutic modalities such as, EFT, IFS, Narrative Therapy, and Polyvagal Therapy.
The Framework
Within the aforementioned modalities, I utilize specific interventions such as EMDR, Psychoanalytic interventions, Somatic and PVT interventions, Mindfulness Integration, and more to supplement each phase of therapy.
Interventions are helpful aids in working through Trauma, Grief, Addiction, and more in the efforts of understanding and healing the fragmented self.
I’m consistently aiming to further deepen the therapeutic bond, increase the client’s connection on treatment approaches and progress, and deshame the experience and path out of trauma.
The Interventions
The Acronyms
“It’s Not Me, It’s My Nervous System.”
Polyvagal Therapy revolves around 3 neural pathways closely linked to the autonomic nervous system (ANS). The ventral vagus pathway creates a sense of safety, promoting social engagement and emotional well-being. The sympathetic pathway activates the fight-or-flight response, mobilizing energy for action. Lastly, the dorsal vagus pathway initiates a shutdown response, a protective mechanism during extreme stress.
Getting to know the Body-Mind Connection means getting to know your nervous system - an integral part of healing all types of trauma.
By understanding how these neurological links are affected, and similarly, how they affect the body, mind, and spirit as a whole, I can better assist clients holistically; to rebuild and reconnect these links to achieve a healthier emotional and psychological balance. You will learn how to navigate your healing process with a new, holistic lens of yourself.
“Parts of a whole are interconnected and they cannot be understood without reference to the whole.”
The whole is greater than the sum of its parts.
